University of the Incarnate Word heeds Secretary Arne Duncan's plea to lower college costs. Partners with StraighterLine

BALTIMORE, MD – StraighterLine (www.straighterline.com) announced today that the University of the Incarnate Word’s Division of Extended Academic Programs (UIW), (http://adulted.uiw.edu), has taken U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan’s call to get creative about lowering college costs and made it a reality. Now students can transfer their StraighterLine credits to an institution focused on adult degree completion in a context of faith. Together, UIW and StraighterLine offer adult learners the opportunity to get a quality education online, in the evening or in blended classes, all at an accelerated pace and at the substantially lower costs Secretary Duncan is calling for. Both the University of the Incarnate Word and StraighterLine believe students should earn their degrees on their own terms. Through this partnership, students who successfully complete StraighterLine’s affordable online college courses may transfer their courses for full credit when they enroll in one of the UIW Extended Academic degree programs.

Students can take freshman and introductory-level classes through StraighterLine and save thousands of dollars earning their college degree. With StraighterLine, students pay only $99 per month plus $39 per course started and can move through the material as quickly or slowly as they like.
