StraighterLine and Kaplan University Partner to Award Credit for College-Level Courses

Partnership between education startup and leader in online postsecondary education makes college-degrees more affordable

Alexandria, VA – StraighterLine www.straighterline.com, announced today that Kaplan University www.kaplanuniversity.edu a leading provider of online postsecondary education, has joined the list of partner colleges working with StraighterLine to award college credit for its online college courses. StraighterLine partner colleges are accredited institutions that provide college credit for students who successfully complete online college courses from StraighterLine.

Students who successfully complete StraighterLine courses may enroll at Kaplan University with up to 27 college credits. These students will also receive a 10 percent tuition reduction on their Kaplan University tuition.

Students who take their freshman and introductory classes from StraighterLine can save thousands of dollars on a college degree by enrolling in StraighterLine's tuition subscription program. It costs $99 per month plus $39 per course started.

In addition to being reviewed by partner colleges, StraighterLine courses have been approved by the American Council on Education's (ACE) Credit Recommendation Service and have met or exceeded the Distance Education and Training Council's (DETC) standards for online course quality.

Currently StraighterLine offers nine entry-level college courses online, including College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, English Composition I, Accounting I, Accounting II, Economics I: Macroeconomics and Economics II: Microeconomics, Business Statistics and two developmental courses, with more planned. StraighterLine's list of affiliated partner schools includes the following regionally accredited institutions:
