For Immediate Release

BALTIMORE, MD – StraighterLine (www.straighterline.com) announced today that Cecil College (http://www.cecil.edu/) has joined its network of partner colleges. Cecil College will accept the credits earned from more than 30 of StraighterLine’s entry-level online courses in the areas of business, English, humanities, mathematics, science, and languages.

Cecil College and StraighterLine make excellent partners because both are focused on helping all who have the desire and ability to benefit from a higher education, regardless of age, gender, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, handicap, or socioeconomic status.

“Students of all stripes, but particularly adult students, need multiple pathways into college,” says Burck Smith, CEO of StraighterLine. “By partnering with StraighterLine, Cecil College gives Maryland students one more option.”

“Maryland community colleges are committed to exploring new pathways for realizing Governor O’Malley’s college completion goal – that 55 percent of Marylanders will hold a college degree or certificate by the year 2025,” said Cecil College President Dr. W. Stephen Pannill. “Cecil College embraces non-traditional ways to support student progress toward the completion of a postsecondary credential.”
