Lipscomb University

A cornerstone of Lipscomb University’s adult degree experience is the Core Assessment and Development Center. This unique program allows students to demonstrate the leadership competencies they have developed in their careers and other experiences to earn up to 30 hours of college credit in a one-day simulation. After assessment, students choose competencies they wish to develop and can earn additional credit for attaining. Additional credit hours are available through transfer credit, portfolio assessment, and online or hybrid classes.


A Lipscomb degree brings with it a reputation of excellence. The university ranked within the Top 20 U.S. News & World Report regional universities in the South and was named an “up-and-coming” university in the region. U.S. News also ranked Lipscomb as the second-best regional university in the South for veterans. In 2015, Lipscomb was named to the Kiplinger Personal Finance list of 100 best values in private universities and was ranked in the top 12 percent on Washington Monthly’s “Best Bang for the Buck” 2013 list of colleges considered the best economic value per dollar invested.
