American Medical Academy started as an EMS focused (Emergency Medical Services Accelerated Program) Institution in 2006 and was accredited by ABHES (Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools). In 2007 the AMA became an Official American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center and National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).
AMA has quickly developed a reputation for high quality education, through modern educational methodologies by incorporating web based technology and study material. Offering student a non- traditional approach to education. Today, AMA has over 400 students from all diverse backgrounds and offers programs in EMS (EMT- Basic, Paramedic and Associates Degree in EMS) and Associates Degree in Nursing.
In addition, AMA also has an enviable location compared to all other institutions in South Florida. The modern facilities are located right in the middle of the Devonarie Crystal Plaza, with a stand-alone building supporting classrooms and Student Resource Lab/Testing Center and two Demonstration Labs inside the plaza.
