Beat the Final Exam Rush

As you know, many students have been displaced and campuses closed due to COVID-19. This means that online courses and services that support them are seeing higher demand than ever before, including online proctoring. You want to be sure you are prepared to make your own proctoring session run as smooth and successfully as possible.

Here are a few tips to beat the "Final Exam Rush":

  • Schedule in advance

Your proctoring session is free when scheduled at least 72 hours in advance. To get the best date and time that meets your schedule, we recommend scheduling your exam at least a week in advance. This will ensure that you get the day and time of your choice and the shortest wait time.

  • Test the ProctorU system

Have you used proctoring yet? If you haven't, please test your system and computer prior to logging on the day of your exam.

  • Show up early

Students who don't take the time and effort to schedule in advance or test their system have reported that it can take 30 minutes or longer in a queue to take an unscheduled exam on an untested computer. If you don’t prepare in advance, be prepared to wait.

  • Schedule outside of peak - ProctorU’s busiest times are weekdays between 3 pm-10 pm EST. Students testing during that time may experience higher than normal wait times.
  • Be patient - Your proctors, student advisors, and support team are working hard to serve you and doing everything they can to ensure that you can complete your courses and be successful. We thank you for being patient with us.
